Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Nextkey Inc., trading as Magnet (“Magnet”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collects, uses and shares personal information when you use the Magnet mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
Magnet is a real-time dating service. Because the Service depends on profiles, approximate location, photos, matching and communication, some information is necessary to provide it. We aim to explain our practices clearly and to comply with applicable privacy laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“EU GDPR”), the UK GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and applicable United States state privacy laws.

1. Who Is Responsible for Your Data?
Nextkey Inc., trading as Magnet, is the controller of the personal information described in this Policy.
Email: benchappteam@gmail.com
Address: 228 Park Avenue South, New York, NY 10003, United States
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account and Sign-In Information
When you create or access a Magnet account, we may receive and store:
- your name and email address (only your first name is displayed to other users);
- your Firebase account identifier and authentication-provider identifier;
- information supplied by Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In;
- account creation, update and last-sign-in timestamps; and
- security information needed to authenticate you and maintain a session.
Apple or Google may provide information according to the choices you make in their sign-in interface and their own privacy policies. If you use Apple’s Hide My Email feature, we receive the relay email address Apple provides.
2.2 Profile, Dating and Preference Information
Depending on the information you provide, Magnet may collect:
- date of birth or age, gender, height and languages;
- sexual orientation and the genders you are interested in;
- ethnicity;
- religious or philosophical beliefs;
- political opinions;
- whether you have or want children and your family plans;
- hometown and neighbourhood;
- workplace, job title, school and education level;
- smoking, cannabis, drinking and other drug preferences;
- profile prompts and prompt answers;
- profile photos; and
- dating preferences such as age range, distance, height and other selected filters.
Some of these details may be sensitive or treated as special-category personal data under applicable law. You can choose Prefer not to say where that option is provided. We do not infer sensitive characteristics that you have not chosen to provide.
We use the details you choose to provide to build your profile, operate matching and filtering, personalise the profiles shown to you and help other users decide whether to interact with you.
2.3 Approximate Location
Magnet stores an approximate location so it can show people around you. We may collect:
- your selected neighbourhood name;
- latitude and longitude rounded to approximately two decimal places;
- a geohash derived from that rounded location;
- time zone and broad notification region; and
- distance preferences.
We do not store your exact GPS location. If you choose Go to Current Location, iOS may make a more precise location available temporarily so the app can move the map. Magnet rounds the coordinates before saving them to our database. Apple Maps, iOS location services or geocoding services may process location information under Apple’s own privacy terms.
2.4 Photos, Memories and Other User Content
We collect content you choose to upload or create, including:
- profile photographs;
- front- and back-camera daily photos or “Memories”;
- prompts and prompt answers;
- likes, Magnet reactions and any message included with them;
- chat messages sent after matching; and
- information associated with reports, blocks, rejections, matches, unmatches or “we met” status.
When a like is associated with a photo, Memory or prompt, we may retain a snapshot or reference to that content so the interaction remains understandable if the profile later changes. The app also performs on-device image checks before uploads to help detect invalid or clearly objectionable images; these checks are not identity verification and do not guarantee that every inappropriate image will be detected.
2.5 Activity and Service Information
We may collect information about how you use Magnet, such as:
- profiles displayed, passed, rejected, liked, reported or blocked;
- matches, message status and whose turn it is to reply;
- whether you have uploaded during the current daily batch;
- the daily batch or notification window associated with an upload;
- likes remaining in a daily batch;
- Magnet balance and usage;
- premium access status and feature eligibility;
- app launches, taps, paywall views, purchase events and feature interactions; and
- notification opens and deep-link destinations.
We use this information to operate the feed, avoid repeatedly showing the same people, maintain matches and conversations, enforce limits, provide premium features and understand how the Service performs.
2.6 Purchases and Subscriptions
When you purchase Premium or consumable Magnets through Apple, we may receive and store:
- product identifier;
- purchase, renewal, cancellation, expiration and refund status;
- subscription term and expiry;
- store and purchase environment;
- transaction or event identifiers;
- premium entitlement state; and
- Magnet balance.
Apple processes your payment method. Magnet does not receive or store your complete payment-card or bank-account details. Superwall helps us present paywalls, process purchase events and maintain entitlement information.
2.7 Device, Notification and Technical Information
Magnet and its service providers may collect:
- Firebase installation, device and push-notification identifiers;
- Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens;
- device model, operating system, app version, language and time zone;
- notification permission, topic and region settings;
- IP address and approximate region derived from it;
- app-integrity and security signals;
- crash logs, error information and diagnostic data; and
- performance information such as launch time, network timing, responsiveness and resource use.
Technical and diagnostic information is used to operate, secure, diagnose and improve the Service.
2.8 Communications
If you contact us, we collect your message and any email address or other information you provide so we can respond and maintain an appropriate record. Contact Us messages submitted in the app include your account identifier, selected reason and message, and are stored privately in our feedback collection.
3. Where Information Comes From
We receive personal information:
- directly from you during sign-in, onboarding, profile editing, posting, matching, messaging or support;
- from your device and your use of the Service;
- from Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In;
- from Firebase and Google services used for authentication, database storage, file storage, cloud functions, security, notifications and diagnostics;
- from Apple and Superwall in connection with subscriptions, consumable purchases and paywall activity; and
- from other Magnet users when they interact with, message, report or block your account.
We do not buy personal information from data brokers.
4. Why We Use Personal Information

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the impact on your rights and use information only where those interests are not overridden by your rights or fundamental interests.
5. What Other Users Can See
Magnet is designed to display dating profiles. Depending on your settings and activity, other users may see your:
- first name, age and neighbourhood;
- profile details and selected lifestyle or preference information;
- profile photos, prompts and answers;
- recent Memories where the feature permits them to be viewed;
- like, Magnet reaction and accompanying message sent to them; and
- chat messages after a match.
Your email address, birth date, stored coordinates, dating filters, authentication identifiers, notification token, purchase status and private account records are not displayed as part of your public dating profile. Visibility controls let you keep selected details such as ethnicity, religion, politics and children off your displayed profile. Hiding a detail does not remove it from the account data used to provide the features you request.
Think carefully before sharing personal information in photos, prompts or messages. A recipient may save or share content outside Magnet despite our rules.
6. How We Share Information
Other Magnet Users
We share profile and interaction content with other users as needed to provide discovery, likes, matches, Memories and messaging.
Service Providers
We use providers that process information to operate Magnet, including:
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, Firestore database storage, file storage, cloud functions, App Check, push notifications, analytics and technical diagnostics;
- Google Sign-In when you choose Google as your authentication method;
- Apple for Sign in with Apple, iOS location and map services, push notifications, App Store purchases and subscription management; and
- Superwall for paywalls, purchase events, subscription status and product analytics; and Meta and TikTok advertising SDKs, where enabled, for app-install and advertising attribution.
These providers process information under their own privacy terms and applicable data-protection obligations. You can review the Google Privacy Policy, Firebase Privacy and Security information, Apple Privacy Policy and Superwall Privacy Policy.
Legal, Safety and Business Requirements
We may disclose information:
- where required by law, court order or a valid request from a public authority;
- to investigate fraud, threats, harassment, illegal conduct or security incidents;
- to protect users, our rights or the rights of others;
- to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; or
- as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
7. Analytics, Advertising Measurement and the Website
We do not sell or rent personal information for money or buy profile information from data brokers. Firebase Analytics and Superwall help us understand app usage, purchase activity and service performance. Meta and TikTok integrations, where enabled in your app version, help measure app installations and advertising campaigns. These providers may process device or installation identifiers, IP addresses, technical device information and app or purchase events under their own privacy terms.
Magnet does not currently display third-party advertisements in the dating feed. Access to Apple’s advertising identifier depends on your device’s tracking permission. You can review tracking permissions in iOS Settings. Depending on applicable law, some advertising-related disclosures may be treated as sharing or targeted advertising; contact us about your rights and available choices. The magnet.singles landing and legal pages do not load advertising pixels or a visitor-analytics SDK. Firebase Hosting still processes ordinary web-request information to serve and secure the website.
8. Notifications and Device Permissions
You control camera, photo-library, location and notification permissions through iOS settings.
- Camera or photo access is used only when you choose to capture or upload content.
- Location is used to select an approximate neighbourhood and broad notification region.
- Notifications may include daily photo prompts, likes, matches and messages.
- Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
Push delivery is not guaranteed and may be affected by Apple, Firebase, connectivity, device settings or operating-system behaviour.
9. Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.
Typical criteria include:
- Account and profile information: while the account is active, then removed from active systems following account deletion, subject to limited legal, safety and backup retention;
- Photos, Memories, prompts and messages: while needed to provide the feature, until deleted with the account or removed under our moderation and retention processes;
- Matches and interaction records: while needed to maintain the interaction, conversation, safety controls and feed history;
- Reports and blocks: for as long as reasonably needed to protect users, prevent repeat abuse, investigate complaints and defend legal claims;
- Notification registrations: until notifications are disabled, the token expires, the account is deleted or the registration is removed as invalid;
- Purchase records: for as long as needed to provide entitlements and comply with accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, chargeback and legal requirements;
- Support communications: for as long as needed to resolve the request and maintain an appropriate record; and
- Security and diagnostic logs: for a limited operational period, unless longer retention is needed for an incident, abuse investigation or legal claim.
Backups and provider systems may take additional time to cycle after deletion. Apple, Google, Firebase and Superwall may retain information under their own policies where they act independently.
10. International Transfers
Nextkey Inc. and some service providers operate in the United States and other countries. Personal information may therefore be processed outside your country.
Where EU or UK data-protection law requires safeguards, we and our providers rely on an applicable mechanism such as an adequacy decision, approved standard contractual clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum, or another lawful safeguard.
Contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to your information.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including:
- encrypted HTTPS connections;
- Firebase Authentication and App Check;
- Firestore and Storage access rules;
- server-side validation for sensitive actions;
- restricted server-managed account and purchase records;
- verified webhook signatures;
- access controls and limited administrative access; and
- reporting and blocking tools.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Protect access to your Apple or Google account and tell us promptly if you believe your Magnet account has been compromised.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- access a copy of your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on consent;
- appeal a decision about a privacy request where applicable; and
- complain to a privacy or data-protection authority.
You may update many profile details inside Magnet. You can delete your account from the profile menu by choosing Delete Account and completing the confirmation steps.
To exercise another right, email benchappteam@gmail.com. We may request information needed to verify your identity and protect your account.
Right to object
If EU or UK law applies, you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Tell us what processing you object to and why. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or the processing is needed for legal claims.
If you are in the EEA, you may complain to your local supervisory authority. UK users may contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
13. Account Deletion
Deleting your Magnet account is intended to remove your authentication account, profile, photos, Memories, active notification registration and associated user data from active Magnet systems.
Limited information may remain where retention is required or permitted for purchases, legal obligations, fraud prevention, user safety, disputes, security backups or legal claims. Content already received or saved outside Magnet by another user cannot be recalled.
Deleting your Magnet account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions separately in your Apple Account settings.
14. Personalisation and Automated Processing
Magnet uses rules and automated filtering based on approximate location, preferences, profile information, activity, prior interactions and subscription features to decide which profiles and content to show.
This personalisation is used to operate the dating feed. It does not make a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
15. Age Restriction
Magnet is only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly allow minors to create accounts or collect personal information from children.
If you believe a person under 18 is using Magnet, email benchappteam@gmail.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
16. Third-Party Links
Magnet may link to Apple, Google, social platforms or other external services. Their content and privacy practices are governed by their own policies. A link does not mean Magnet controls or endorses how an external service handles information.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when Magnet, our providers, the law or our data practices change.
We will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide notice before a material change takes effect. If consent is required for a new purpose, we will request it.
